| Before you can apply for your full licence, you must have held your restricted licence for at least 18 months and be 18 years of age or older. (This period may be reduced to 12 months and 17 ½ years respectively if you sit an advanced driving course. If you are 25 years old or over, you must have held your restricted licence for at least six months reduced to three months if you sit an approved advanced driving course. |

When you are ready to book for a full practical driving test, call the NZTA call centre on ph 0800 822 422, or visit one of the NZTA approved agents listed above. The driving test will take approximately ¾ hour.
When you book your test, you will need to:
• Complete the application form
• Pay the application fee of $49.60
• Pay the practical driving test fee of $86.60
• Provide a birth certificate, passport or other proof of identity and age
• Provide a letter or bill that shows your name and current address
• Pass an eyesight test (or provide an eyesight certificate from your doctor)
• Provide a signature and have your photograph taken.
